RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 8
FOR FURMAN AQUATIC CENTER
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, as construction of the Furman Aquatic Center wraps up, final adjustments are
being made to complete the project,and Council approval is required to authorize change orders that
exceed $50,000; and,
WHEREAS,prior to May 2009,staff authorized Change Order Nos. I and 2,which reduced
the contract by$12,338, and in May 2009, the City Council authorized Change Order No. 3 in the
amount of$63,019; and,
WHEREAS, consistent with Council policy, staff was authorized to approve Change Order
No. 4 in the amount of$24,500, and in July 2009, Council action was required for Change Order
No. 5, which totaled$40,030; and,
WHEREAS, following that action, staff could, once again, authorize change orders up to
$50,000 and did so by authorizing Change Order Nos. 6 and 7 (in the amount of $12,865 and
$30,000 respectively); and,
WHEREAS, Council action is now required to confirm Change Order Nos. 6 and 7 and to
approve Change Order No. 8 totaling$26,747.76.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that approval of previous Change Order Nos. I through 7 is hereby confirmed,and Change order No.
8 in the amount of$26,747.76 for changes to the Furman Aquatic Center construction contract is
hereby approved.
