RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
VALVE MAINTENANCE, TESTING,REPAIR,REPLACEMENT, & RELATED SERVICES
AND REPAIRS FOR POWER PLANT BOILERS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa, such project having been designated as the Valve
Maintenance, Testing, Repair, Replacement, &Related Services and Repairs for the Power Plant Boilers;
and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 27th day of May, 2009, as called for in the
detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on
the 30th day of April, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Ferguson Process Services of
Cannon Falls, Minnesota, in the amount of $115,000.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said
contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Ferguson Process Services of Cannon
Falls, Minnesota, in the amount of$115,000.00 dated the 23rd day of June, 2009, for the Valve
Maintenance, Testing, Repair, Replacement, &Related Services and Repairs for the Power Plant
Boilers as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,
and the performance bond of the said contractor with Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of
America of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, as surety thereon, in the amount of $115,000.00 filed in
connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 14th day of July, 2009.
