RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
RESOURCE RECOVERY PLANT
FERROUS MAGNET INSTALLATION PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Resource Recovery Plant Ferrous Magnet Installation Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids
were received on the Wh day of May,2009,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared
by the Finance Department, Purchasing Division, and filed with the City Clerk on the 14th day of April,
2009; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of A-Lert Construction Services
of Fredonia,Kansas,in the amount of$19,840.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction
of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by
said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and A-Lert Construction Services of
Fredonia,Kansas,in the amount of$19,840.00 dated the 12th day of May,2009,for the construction
of the Resource Recovery Plant Ferrous Magnet Installation Project as provided for in the detailed
plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said
contractor with Federal Insurance Company of Warren, New Jersey, as surety thereon, in the
amount of$19,840.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
