RESOLUTION APPROVING FUNDING ALLOCATION FOR
LOCAL COSTS OF CURB AND INTAKE REPAIR ON U.S. HIGHWAY 69
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, as part of its jurisdictional responsibilities for federal highways, the Iowa
Department of Transportation(IDOT)will be resurfacing North Grand Avenue(U.S. Highway 69)
from 500 feet north of 24t'Street to 2,000 feet north of Bloomington Road,and South Duff Avenue
from Airport Road north to Southeast 16th Street; and,
WHEREAS, construction is scheduled to take place sometime during this construction
season; and,
WHEREAS, as a part of the IDOT project,there are several intakes and lengths of curb that
are in need of repair, and the IDOT proposes to have these repairs included under its contract and
completed by its contractor; and,
WHEREAS, the City would then reimburse the IDOT for the actual costs of the repairs,
payable in July 2010; and,
WHEREAS, the total estimated costs of the repairs are $67,600.00.
WHEREAS,funding is available through the use of unobligated General Obligation Bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the General Obligation Bonds funding allocation for local costs of the Curb and Intake Repair
of two portions on U.S. Highway 69 is hereby approved.
