HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Closure of 5th Street for Memorial Day Parade RESOLUTION NO. 09-192 RESOLUTION APPROVING CLOSURE OF FIFTH STREET FOR MEMORIAL DAY PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, each year, the Ames Patriotic Council conducts a community observance of Memorial Day, and this observance involves a parade from City Hall to the Municipal Cemetery followed by a memorial service at the cemetery, and, WHEREAS, the following requested item is presented for Council approval in order to facilitate the Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 25, 2009: closure of Fifth Street from Grand Avenue through the Clark Avenue intersection from 9:30 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. for line-up and start of the parade entries. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the request from the Ames Patriotic Council for closure of Fifth Street from Grand Avenue through the Clark Avenue intersection on May 25,2009, for line-up and start of the Memorial Day parade entries is hereby approved.
