HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Easements for 2006/07 Storm Sewer Outlet Erosion Control Project RESOLUTION NO. 09-127 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING EASEMENTS AND PURCHASE OF PERMANENT STORM SEWER EASEMENT AT 3715 CALHOUN AVENUE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,this annual program provides for stabilization of areas that have become eroded due to discharges of the storm sewer system into streams,channels,swales,gullies,or drainage ways in residential areas, and will provide a more permanent control of the erosion and will reduce recurring maintenance costs in these areas; and, WHEREAS, the project entails channel improvements and the placement of storm sewer structures to repair an eroded channel north of Top-O-Hollow Road,and since the work takes place on residential properties, easements are needed; and, WHEREAS, all temporary and permanent easements have been signed by the affected property owners,and all permanent easements have been donated to the City,except for one property at 3715 Calhoun Avenue; and, WHEREAS,the City is offering to purchase this easement for the amount of$1,159.97,and purchase of this easement will allow the City to proceed with the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the easements for the 2006/07 Storm Sewer Outlet Erosion Control Project (Top-O-Hollow Road)are hereby accepted,and staff is authorized to purchase the permanent storm sewer easement at 3715 Calhoun Avenue for $1,159.97.
