RESOLUTION APPROVING QWEST PRIVATE DATA LINE AGREEMENT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the City of Ames has four Qwest Communications private data lines that
provide telephone and data services to Fire Station No.3,CyRide,Fire Station No.2,and Parks and
Recreation Gateway office; and,
WHEREAS, the current contract for this service is up for renewal; and,
WHEREAS,the new Qwest monthly rates,depending on the contract term,are: 12 months-
$1,308.85/month; 24 months - $1,281.25/month; and, 36 months - $1,226.95/month; and,
WHEREAS,by signing a 36-month agreement,the City would save approximately$982.80
per year or$2,948.40 over the term of a 36-month agreement; and,
WHEREAS,because the proposed contract covers more than one year,City Council approval
is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the agreement between the City and Qwest Communications for a 36-month period to provide
private data lines to the City of Ames at a cost of$1,226.95/month is hereby approved.
