RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX
EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES
WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,Alpha Iota Association has submitted an application dated September 23,2008,
to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on
the actual value added by improvements to property located at 325 Ash Avenue; and
WHEREAS, said property is located within East University Urban Revitalization Area in
Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.

WHEREAS,Iowa House Building,LLC,has submitted an application dated January 27,2009,
to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on
the actual value added by improvements to property located at 405 Hayward Avenue; and
WHEREAS,said property is located within 405 Hayward Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,
Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

WHEREAS,Friedrich-Woodward Development,Inc.,has submitted an application(to correct
the abatement approved in 2008 for 2007 Valuation Year)dated May 8,2007,to the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 2604 Northridge Parkway; and
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 7 (Somerset) in
Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 1 Additional Year.

WHEREAS, three owners of condominiums at 4503 Twain Circle: Keith D. Arneson,Nate
Bock,and Emily Erickson;and two owners of condominiums at 4510 Twain Circle:Keith D.Arneson
and Patricia Romey; and three owners of condominiums at 4511 Twain Circle: Keith D. Arneson,
Anastasia Bodner,and Jason Gengler have submitted an application dated December 29,2008,to the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to properties located at 4503 Twain Circle,4510 Twain Circle,
and 4511 Twain Circle, respectively; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Twain Circle Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,
Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the
Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well
as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa;and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward
said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying
with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
