RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
STANGE ROAD SUBSTATION TO AMES POWER PLANT
(161/69-kV TRANSNUSSION LINE CONSTRUCTION)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City ofAmes,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Stange
Road Substation to Ames Power Plant (161/69-kV Transmission Line Construction); and, pursuant to
notice and hearing, bids were received on the 10t1i day of December, 2008, as called for in the detailed
plans and specifications as prepared by DeWild Grant Reckert&Associates Company and filed with the
City Clerk on the 3'day of November, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Hooper Corporation of
Madison, Wisconsin, in the amount of $3,485,486.96 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by
said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and of Hooper Corporation of Madison,
Wisconsin,in the amount of$3,485,486.96 dated the 161}i day of December,2008,for the Stange
Road Substation to Ames Power Plant(161/69-kV Transmission Line Construction)as provided
for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance
bond of the said contractor with Fidelity&Deposit Company of Baltimore, Maryland, as surety
thereon,in the amount of$3,485,486.96 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 13t1i day of January, 2009.
