HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2007/08 Clear Water Diversion Program RESOLUTION NO. 09-013 RESOLUTION APPROVING REDUCTION OF RETAINAGE FOR 2007/08 CLEARWATER DIVERSION PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,the Clear Water Diversion Program involves diverting footing drain discharge from sanitary sewers to storm sewers; and, WHEREAS,the locations for the 2007/08 Clear Water Diversion Program included portions of 10t1i Street, Arbor Street, Ash Avenue, Donald Street, Garden Road, Colorado Avenue, Garner Avenue,Kingman Road,Knapp Street,Lynn Avenue,Storm Street,Narland Drive,Ross Road,Trail Ridge Road, West Street, and Woodland Street; and, WHEREAS, on September 11, 2007,the Council awarded the contract to Ames Trenching &Excavating,Inc.,in the amount of$202,892.00, and construction was estimated to be completed in the amount of$204,673.10; and, WHEREAS,the project is substantially complete,and on December 18,2008,Public Works received a request from Ames Trenching & Excavating, Inc., to reduce the amount of project retention from $10,182.86 to $2,432.00; and, WHEREAS, the amount of retention remaining meets the requirement of a minimum of 200% of the value of the work to complete that must be withheld. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the reduction of the project retainage for the 2007/08 Clear Water Diversion Program to $2,432.00 is hereby approved.
