RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO
HUMAN SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
GOOD NEIGHBOR
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, in June 2008, as a part of the approval of the 2008/09 budget,the City Council
approved a contract with Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance in the amount of$11,000; and,
WHEREAS,the contract contained$8,500 to purchase Basic Material Needs assistance,and
$2,500 for Employment Assistance for Adults; and,
WHEREAS, as Good Neighbor has recently hired a new director, the Board and he have
discussed the priorities and direction for the agency,and,as a result,Good Neighbor has decided to
drop the Employment Assistance Program for now and focus on the Basic Material needs area;and,
WHEREAS, Good Neighbor is requesting that the $2,500 originally allocated to the
Employment Assistance Program be reallocated to the Basic Material Needs Program; and,
WHEREAS, no new money is being requested.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the amendment to the 2008/09 Human Services Agreement with Good Neighbor to allocate the
City's entire $11,000 funding to the Basic Material Needs Program is hereby approved.
