RESOLUTION APPROVING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT
FOR SOUTH GATEWAY DEVELOPMENT SUBDIVISION AND
SOUTH DAYTON AVENUE REALIGNMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, this project will relocate South Dayton Avenue diagonally between the U.S.
Highway 30/South Dayton Avenue Interchange and South Dayton Avenue/Southeast 5tn Street;and,
WHEREAS,this rehabilitation is necessary due to increased truck traffic and will extend the
life of the pavement by providing better load transfer; and,
WHEREAS, the realignment of South Dayton Avenue is included as part of the South
Gateway Subdivision developer's agreement,and Division I includes work as part of this agreement;
and,
WHEREAS, staff has held several meetings with South Dayton Development, LC, and in
order to take advantage of economies of scale,its construction obligation has been incorporated into
public bid plans as Division 1; and,
WHEREAS,the City Attorney drafted a supplemental agreement to outline financial security
of Division 1 construction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the Supplemental Agreement pertaining to South Gateway Development Subdivision and the
South Dayton Avenue Realignment Project with South Dayton Development, LC, is hereby
approved.
ADOPTED THIS 14th day of October, 2008.
