RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO
PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR PROPERTY AT 608 DURRELL CIRCLE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, at its December 4, 2007,meeting,the Council adopted a resolution proposing
the sale of City-owned property at 608 Durrell Circle to Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa
(HHCI); and,
WHEREAS, the proposed sale was scheduled to occur on or before November 30, 2008, if
all conditions of the purchase agreement for the rehabilitation and sale of the property were satisfied;
and,
WHEREAS,HHCI has identified and approved a family to purchase the property,however,
the recent resignation of its construction manager has caused scheduling delays for some projects;
and,
WHEREAS, a new manager has been hired and will begin working on October 13, 2008,
and,
WHEREAS,with the transition of the new construction manager, some rehabilitation items
to be completed on the Durrell property needed to be adjusted,and HHCI is requesting the following
actions: 1)a time extension for the rehabilitation(on or before November 30,2008)and closing(on
or before December 30, 2008), and 2) the additional project detail improvements as outlined on
Attachment C.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the aforementioned time extension for the rehabilitation and closing and the additional project
detail improvements as attached hereto and made a portion hereof by this reference are hereby
approved.
ADOPTED THIS 14t" day of October, 2008.
