RESOLUTION APPROVING CLOSURE OF DEPOT PARKING LOT
FOR JUVENILE DIABETES FUNDRAISER
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, employees of Hy-Vee Drugstore want to hold an outdoor event to raise funds
for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on August 2, 2008, in the east half of the Depot
parking lot; and,
WHEREAS, the event will be open to the public,but tickets for games or food will be sold
by affiliates of the Research Foundation; and,
WHEREAS,under the terms of the Ames Depot Development Agreement,the City monitors
and regulates the parking area and enforces parking regulations; and,
WHEREAS,organizers would like to use parking stalls to set up dunk tanks,a bean bag toss,
and other booths, therefore,they are requesting, with permission of Hubbell Realty, that the City
close the east half of Depot Lot V between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on that date; and,
WHEREAS, staff has been assured that Hubbell Realty approves of this event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the closure of Depot Parking Lot V east of the entry way drive aisle for the Juvenile Diabetes
Fundraiser from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on August 2, 2008, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 29`h day of July, 2008.
