RESOLUTION APPROVING COMPLETION OF WPC PLANT
SANITARY SEWER AND SUMP PUMP REPLACEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, on September 25,2007,the Council awarded a contract to Ames Trenching&
Excavating, Inc., in the amount of $68,500 to install a replacement sewer line and a new
prefabricated sump pit and pump at the Water Pollution Control Facility; and,
WHEREAS,work was scheduled to be completed on November 30,2007,however,the new
sump pit that was installed was leaking groundwater; and,
WHEREAS,staff discussed the problem with Ames Trenching&Excavating,Inc.,and it was
decided to authorize partial payment of and re-evaluate the leaking sump pit by May 1, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, the sump pit has been replaced and now shows no indication of leaking; and,
WHEREAS, all work for this contract has now been completed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the final completion of the Water Pollution Control Facility Sanitary Sewer and Sump Pump
Replacement Project is hereby approved, and final payment is authorized in accordance with the
contract.
ADOPTED THIS 151h day of July, 2008.
