RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
LIME SLUDGE DISPOSAL OPERATION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that
certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated
as the Lime Sludge Disposal Operation(Five-Year); and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were
received on the 27`' day of May, 2008, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as
prepared by the Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 5`'day of May, 2008; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Wulfekuhle Injection and
Pumping, Inc., of New Vienna, Iowa, in the amount of$316,220.00 per year is the lowest and best
bid submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Wulfekuhle Injection and
Pumping, Inc., of New Vienna, Iowa, in the amount of$316,220.00 per year for the Lime
Sludge Disposal Operation (Five-Year) as provided for in the detailed plans and
specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said
contractor with AMCO Insurance Company of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the
amount of$316,220.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 8`' day of July, 2008.
