HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Restroom at Ada Hayden Heritage Park RESOLUTION NO. 08-144 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF RESTROOM AT ADA HAYDEN HERITAGE PARK FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Construction of Restroom at Ada Hayden Heritage Park;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 19'day of March,2008,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 25' day of February, 2008; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of R.H.Grabau Construction, Inc., of Boone, Iowa, in the amount of $123,955.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and R.H. Grabau Construction,Inc., of Boone, Iowa, in the amount of $123,955.00 dated the 8' day of April, 2008, for the Construction of Restroom at Ada Hayden Heritage Park as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond ofthe said contractor with Employers Mutual Casualty Company of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$123,955.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 22"d day of April, 2008. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
