HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract for City-Wide Mass Emergency Communications System RESOLUTION NO. 08-126 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF CITY-WIDE MASS EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 29`' day of February, 2008, for the purchase of a fully integrated mass communications system consisting of voice-capable sirens for the ISU campus,mechanical rotating sirens for the City,and identical command software/hardware at both Iowa State University's Department of Public Safety and the City's Police dispatch centers. Said bids have now been carefully analyzed. IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows: Section 1: Award of contract is made as follows: 10 sirens, command software, and software training to Federal Signal Corporation of University Park, Illinois, in the amount of$152,441.50. Section 2: The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said contract for and on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal of the City thereto. Section 3: All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 8`h day of April, 2008. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
