RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS TO TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
FOR THE PUBLIC ART COMMISSION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, the Public Art Commission is a standing commission established in 1991; and,
WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting of January 8, 2008, discussion was held regarding
revisions to terms of appointments to certain boards and commissions; and,
WHEREAS,these amendments would standardize the terms of appointments,thereby allowing
reappointment of board and commission members for two consecutive full terms of three years; and,
WHEREAS, changing the Public Art Commission's terms of appointments will make it
consistent with the lengths of terms of the majority of City boards and commissions; and,
WHEREAS, no member who has served two full consecutive terms will be eligible for
reappointment; and,
WHEREAS,members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the revision to terms of appointment for the Public Art Commission is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 12t" day of February, 2008.
