RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX
EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES
WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, Ames Chi Omega Alumni Association has submitted an application dated
August 20,2007,to the City Council ofthe City ofAmes,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from
taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 227 Gray Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in
Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

WHEREAS, Cardinal Terrace, LLC, has submitted an application dated November 23, 2007,
to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to property located at 211 Lynn Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within 211 Lynn Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa,
as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement proj ect respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule 3 Years.

WHEREAS,Wescar,Inc., has submitted an application dated July 2007 to the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by
improvements to property located at 216 Main Street; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Downtown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,

Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 2707 Stange Road; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Town Center West Urban Revitalization Area
(Somerset)in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council ofthe City ofAmes,Iowa;and,
WHEREAS,the improvement proj ect respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual
value added by improvements to property located at 2713 Stange Road; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Town Center West Urban Revitalization Area
(Somerset)in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa;and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

WHEREAS,Friedrich-Woodward Development,Inc.,has submitted an application dated May 8,
2007,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation
on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2604 Northridge Parkway; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 7 (Somerset) in
Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 2 Years Remaining.

WHEREAS, 4 owners of condominiums at 4503 Twain Circle: Keith D. Arneson, Melissa
Arneson, Erik Goodale, Mark William Jones; and 11 owners of condominiums at 4510 Twain Circle:
Keith D. Arneson, Anthony I. and Debra K. Juarez, John Shilkatis, Jason L. Hast, Penny M. Bovelli-
Jungermann and Anthony Jungermann,Bruce F.Black and Jean G.Adler,Rod Meier,Doris Meier,and
Natasha Meier, Renu Srivastava,Maisha Rudison, Ben Tuttle,Andrew Mann and David Mann; and 2
owners of condominiums at 4511 Twain Circle:Keith D.Arneson and Justin Walsh and Christina Walsh
have submitted an application dated December 29,2007,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,
requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to
properties located at 4503 Twain Circle,4510 Twain Circle,and 4511 Twain Circle,respectively;and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Twain Circle Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,
Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

2007,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation
on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 108 Jewel Drive; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No.6 in Ames, Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,

WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 years.

the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to property located at 3414 Emerald Drive; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 6 in Ames,Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to property located at 3416 Emerald Drive; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No.6 in Ames, Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
said applications are hereby approved,and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward
said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying
with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
