RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF
SUBDIVISION REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPERTY AT ZUMWALT STATION ROAD
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,this proposal is for a property line adjustment without additional buildable lots being
created for property located on Zumwalt Station Road; and,
WHEREAS,on August 22,2007,the City's Development Review Committee(DRC)processed
an application concerning this proposed property line adjustment located directly north of Zumwalt
Station Road, east of South 500t''Avenue, and west of South Dakota Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the property is located southwest of the corporate limits of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the proposal involves a relocation of the common east/west property line to a
north/south configuration, and no public improvements or infrastructure are proposed; and,
WHEREAS, the owner is requesting that the City waive its jurisdictional authority rather than
apply for approval of a Major Subdivision; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed property line adjustment would allow for the proposed home to be
built to the north,thereby allowing the reminder of the site to be further developed in compliance with
the Urban Fringe Plan at a future time; and,
WHEREAS, staff recommends that approval be granted with the stipulation that the platting
requirements of Story County will need to be met and a copy of the recorded Plat of Survey shall be
delivered to the Ames City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that
the request to waive subdivision requirements for property located on Zumwalt Station Road is hereby
approved subject to the above-mentioned stipulation.
