RESOLUTION APPROVING 2007/08 PAY PLAN
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, each year, the council approves a Pay Plan that specifies pay ranges and steps for
the City's work force; and,
WHEREAS, the 2007/08 Pay Plan reflects the negotiated wage settlements with the five
bargaining units as well as a 3.5% increase for merit employee job classifications; and,
WHEREAS, the bargaining units' respective across-the-board settlements are 3.5% for IUOE-
Blue Collar, 3.5%for IBEW-Electric Distribution, 3.5% for IUOE-Electric Production, and 3.75% for
PPME-Police; and,
WHEREAS,the IAFF-Fire unit's settlement is 3.8%for Fire Lieutenant and Fire Inspector,while
the Firefighter increases are 2.0% at Step A, 3.5%at Step B, 3.0% at Step C, and 3.8%at Step D; and,
WHEREAS, the statutory minimum wage is retained as the scale minimum for temporary
Unclassified Laborers and Office Workers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,that
the 2007/08 Pay Plan is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 26th day of June, 2007.
