HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Remote Parking Agreement for South Kellogg properties RESOLUTION NO. 07-286 RESOLUTION APPROVING REMOTE PARKING AGREEMENT FOR 1606, 1610,AND 1614 SOUTH KELLOGG AVENUE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, the minor site development plan for commercial property at 1614 South Kellogg Avenue was approved on October 30, 2006, and the parking calculation utilized for this location was pursuant to Retail Sales and Services General,which requires a minimum of one off-street parking space per 200 square feet; and, WHEREAS,the site currently has 53 of-street parking spaces and a minimum of 52 are required for this use; and, WHEREAS,the property owner is now contemplating a sit-down restaurant use,which requires a minimum of nine parking spaces per 1,000 square feet; and, WHEREAS,the adjacent property, 1606 and 1610 South Kellogg Avenue,are ownedby the same company, and this property has 179 off-street parking spaces, which is 21 spaces over the minimum requirement for the restaurant and hotel uses that are currently on this site; and, WHEREAS,to allow the structure at 1614 South Kellogg to be partially utilized as a restaurant, the property owner is seeking a Remote Parking Agreement to utilize the 21 spaces from the 1606 and 1610 South Kellogg Avenue sites. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,that the Remote Parking Agreement for 1606, 1610, and 1614 South Kellogg Avenue is hereby approved.
