HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Temporary assistant director for Water & Pollution Control RESOLUTION NO. 07-257 RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE AUTHORIZED DATE FOR TEMPORARY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF WATER AND POLLUTION CONTROL FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, in October 2006, the Council authorized a transitional staffing plan for the Water and Pollution Control Department to manage the change in leadership at the top-most levels of the department; and, WHEREAS, the plan included the temporary addition of a second Assistant Director position through June 30, 2007, that was filled by Tom Neumann when he stepped down as the Director on December 30, 2006; and, WHEREAS,the assignments for this temporary position were to assist in completing a few high- priority projects; and, WHEREAS,while work on these tasks is progressing, some work has progressed more slowly than originally anticipated; ;and, WHEREAS, work will be slowed even further following the resignation of the staff environmental engineer responsible for annual contract reconciliations; and, WHEREAS, in order to complete the high-priority tasks, it would be helpful to extend the temporary Assistant Director position for up to two additional months to no later than August 31,2007. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the extension of the authorized date for the temporary Assistant Director position to no later than August 31, 2007, is hereby approved.
