RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF PARKING METER FEES
AND ENFORCEMENT FOR
"TUNE IN TO MAIN STREET"ACTIVITIES
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, the Main Street Cultural District (MSCD) is planning to hold "Tune in to Main
Street'concerts on Thursdays beginning May 31 and continuing on Thursdays through August 2,2007;
and,
WHEREAS, the kick-off for this event will be May 31 and will include sidewalk displays and
entertainment in Tom Evans Plaza; and,
WHEREAS, the MSCD is requesting waiver of parking meter fees and enforcement in the
Central Business District(CBD) from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS,staff has calculated that the lost revenue to the Parking fund by waiving parking fees
for three hours for 11 Thursdays is $3,300.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,that
the waiver of parking meter fees and enforcement for all of the Central Business District for the"Tune
in to Main Street' activities on the days/dates as listed is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 8t' day of May, 2007.
