HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Agreement for 2007/08 Traffic Signal Improvement Program RESOLUTION NO. 07-177 RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR 2007/08 TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (LINCOLN WAY/LYNN AVENUE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,the Annual Traffic Signal Program provides for replacing older traffic signals and for constructing new traffic signals within the City; and, WHEREAS, this program will result in improved visibility, reliability, and appearance of signals, and the location chosen for the 2007/08 program is the intersection of Lincoln Way and Lynn Avenue; and, WHEREAS, the project was selected to receive State Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) funding for eligible construction costs up to a maximum amount of$75,000; and, WHEREAS, additional funds are planned in the amount of$100,000 from the Road Use Tax Fund for the remaining project costs; and, WHEREAS, dedicated signal heads will be included for the left turn movements on Lincoln Way and LED countdown pedestrian signal heads will be added. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that the Agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation which will provide up to $75,000 in TSIP funds for the 2007/08 Annual Traffic Signals Program(Lincoln Way/Lynn Avenue)is hereby approved.
