HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Agreement for 2006/07 Traffic Signal Improvement Program RESOLUTION NO. 07-176 RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR 2006/07 TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (LINCOLN WAY/WELCH AVENUE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,the Annual Traffic Signal Program provides for replacing older traffic signals and for constructing new traffic signals within the City; and, WHEREAS,this program will result in improved visibility,reliability,and appearance of signals, and the location chosen for the 2006/07 program is the intersection of Lincoln Way and Welch Avenue; and, WHEREAS, the project was selected to receive State Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP)funding for eligible construction costs up to a maximum amount of$10,000, and this funding is specifically for the addition of LED countdown pedestrian signal heads; and, WHEREAS, additional funds are planned in the amount of$150,000 from the Road Use Tax Fund for the remaining project costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation which will provide up to $10,000 in TSIP funds for the 2006/07 Annual Traffic Signals Program(Lincoln Way/Welch Avenue)is hereby approved.
