HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Waiver of fees for water usage for Campustown Clean-Up RESOLUTION NO. 07-124 RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF FEES FOR USE OF WATER AND INSTALLATION/REMOVAL OF HYDRANT METER FOR CAMPUSTOWN CLEAN-UP FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, representatives of Campustown Showcase, a subcommittee of VEISHEA 2007, would like to close the north end of Welch Avenue on April 15, 2007, for the purpose of cleaning up trash and power washing the street and sidewalks; and, WHEREAS, Campustown businesses have been included in the planning, and several of them have agreed to let their windows be painted in celebration of VEISHEA; and, WHEREAS,event organizers are making arrangements to obtain power washers and hoses,but are asking the City to provide water from the hydrant near Copyworks; and, WHEREAS,the Water Meter Division is willing to install a metering device in advance and Fire Station personnel have offered to remove and store it after the work is complete; and, WHEREAS,the Council is being asked to waive fees for the use of water and for installation and removal of the water metering device. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the waiver of fees for the use of water and installation/removal of a water metering device for Campustown Clean-Up on April 15, 2007, is hereby approved.
