HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 2007 Urban Revitalization Tax Exemption requests RESOLUTION NO. 07-058 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, Iowa Gamma Association of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has submitted an application dated January 28, 2007, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 140 Lynn Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Iowa Beta of Phi Kappa Psi has submitted an application dated January 8, 2007, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 316 Lynn Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, Iowa State College Pi Beta Phi has submitted an application dated January 20, 2007,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 208 Ash Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Alpha Iota Association has submitted an application dated January 22,2007,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 325 Ash Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the East University Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS, Suites on Lincoln Way, LLC, has submitted an application dated December 22, 2006,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2709 Lincoln Way; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the North Sheldon Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2 WHEREAS,Nyle H.Nims has submitted an application dated December 7, 2006,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 411 Kellogg Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the Downtown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,CEW Properties,LLC,has submitted an application dated December 12,2006,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2709 Northridge Parkway; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the Town Center West (Somerset) Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS, The Rose of Ames, LP,has submitted an application dated May 23, 2006,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 1315 Coconino Road; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the 1305 Coconino Road Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such 3 improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Sunset Beach,LC,has submitted an application dated January 16,2007,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 210 Gray Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the Sunset View Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS, 5 owners of condominiums at 4510 Twain Circle: Keith D. Arneson, Jeremy Schweitzer, Sarah Beth Sherrill, Mindy Sue Nikkel, Brett Swan; and 18 owners of condominiums at 4511 Twain Circle:Keith D.Arneson,Art and Judy Snyder,Harold E.Peterson and Jennifer L.Peterson, Kaci Kevier,Jennifer R.Rasmussen,Sally R.Beisser,Anastasia and Brandon Bodnar,Sved Ahmed and Faiza Hasmi, Samuel Graham,Nolan Christensen, Jing Liu, Gebre H. Tesfagiorgis, Scott and Sheryl Beeman,Clark and Jody Obr,Jason Daniel Gergler,Geoffrey Gandy,Michelle Weinreich,and Krystal Kirkpatrick have submitted an application dated January 24, 2007, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 4510 Twain Circle and 4511 Twain Circle,respectively; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the Twain Circle Urban Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
