HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Power Plant Green Space Project RESOLUTION NO. 06-418 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ELECTRIC SERVICES POWER PLANT GREEN SPACE PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Electric Services Power Plant Green Space Project; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 14t1i day of September, 2006, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Purchasing Division and filed with the City Clerk on the 21'day of September, 2006; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Country Landscapes,Inc.,of Ames,Iowa,in the amount of$47,608.98 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Country Landscapes, Inc., of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $47,608.98 dated the 261}i day of September, 2006, for the construction of the Electric Services Power Plant Green Space Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company of Columbus,Ohio,as surety thereon,in the amount of$47,608.98 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 10"'day of October, 2006. Diane R. Voss, City Clerk Ann H.
