HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Agreement for 2007/08 Collector Street Rehabilitation Program RESOLUTION NO. 06-415 RESOLUTION APPROVING IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT FOR 2007/08 COLLECTOR STREET REHABILITATION PROGRAM(BEACH AVENUE) FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, the annual Collector Street Rehabilitation Program is to restore structural integrity, serviceability, and rideability to collector streets, and the 2007/08 program location is identified as Beach Avenue between Mortensen Parkway and Lincoln Way; and, WHEREAS, the existing concrete and asphalt pavements will be removed and replaced, including integral curb and gutter and reconstruction/rehabilitation of pedestrian ramps and storm sewer intakes; and, WHEREAS,an initial conversation with the Iowa Department of Transportation(IDOT)has indicated that a February 2007 bid letting is possible, and this schedule would allow a contractor to begin construction in spring 2007; and, WHEREAS,this program has been identified in the 2007/08 Capital Improvements Plan(CIP) in the amount of $560,000 from General Obligation Bonds and $1,040,000 from Metropolitan Planning Organization(MPO)/Surface Transportation Program(STP) funds; and, WHEREAS, the IDOT has indicated that $860,000 will be available from MPO/STP funds, which means that $940,000 will be needed from General Obligation Bonds. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Ames,Iowa,that the agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation for STP funding for the 2007/08 Collector Street Rehabilitation Program(Beach Avenue) is hereby approved.
