Home My WebLink About~Master - Contract/bond for Combustion Turbine GT1 Control System Upgrade RESOLUTION NO. 06-391 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF COMBUSTION TURBINE GT1 CONTROL SYSTEM UPGRADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Combustion Turbine GT1 Control System Upgrade; and, pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 28t'day of June,2006,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Sega, Inc., and filed with the City Clerk on the 2nd day of June, 2006; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of HPI, LLC, of Houston, Texas, in the amount of$160,409.86 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and HPI,LLC, of Houston,Texas, in the amount of $160,409.86 dated the 8t' day of August, 2006, for the construction of the Combustion Turbine GT 1 Control System Upgrade as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Evergreen National Indemnity Company of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, as surety thereon,in the amount of$160,409.86 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 26t'' day of September, 2006. 07, Diane R.
