RESOLUTION APPROVING USE OF OUTLETS AND WAIVER OF ELECTRICITY
FEES FOR OUTLETS FOR ALL-AMERICAN WEEKEND EVENTS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, staff has been meeting with representatives of the All-American Weekend
Organizing Committee,the Main Street Cultural District,North Grand Mall,and the Ames Convention
and Visitors Bureau to prepare for the Fifth Annual All-American Weekend(AAW); and,
WHEREAS, activities will begin on Friday, September 1,and will run through September 3;
and,
WHEREAS,the organizers are requesting the Council to assist them in facilitating the AAW
activities, and one of their requests is to allow them use of electrical outlets and waiver of electrical
fees for use of these outlets in Tom Evans Plaza and on Welch Avenue during their respective events.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the request for use of outlets and waiver of electricity fees for the outlets in Tom Evans Plaza and on
Welch Avenue for the All-American Weekend events from September 1 through September 3,2006,
is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of August, 2006.
