RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2006/07
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)AGREEMENT
WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, in August 2006,the City received notification from the Department of Housing
and Urban Development(HUD)that the review of the City's Consolidated Plan and 2006/07 Annual
Action Plan had been completed; and,
WHEREAS, HUD is now requesting that the city sign and return the 2006/07 CDBG
Agreement and Funding Approval; and,
WHEREAS,the Agreement outlines that the City of Ames will receive$502,589 for the fiscal
year July 1,2006,through June 30,2007,to implement the following approved Action Plan projects:
Renter Affordability Program(formerly Deposit Assistance Program)
Minor Repair Assistance Program for Non-Profits
Neighborhood Sustainability Program(formerly Acquisition/Reuse Program)
Homebuyer Assistance Program
WHEREAS, the Agreement stipulates that the City of Ames agrees to assume all of the
responsibilities of environmental review, decision-making, and actions, as specified and required in
regulations issued by HUD.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the 2006/07 Community Development Block Grant Agreement with the Department of Housing and
Urban Development is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of August, 2006.
