HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Security Information Policy RESOLUTION NO. 06-318 RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE SECURITY INFORMATION POLICY EXEMPTING SPECIFIED CLASSES OF RECORDS FROM OPEN RECORDS REQUESTS FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, for the protection of City employees; visitors to City facilities; persons in City care, custody or control; and for the protection of City property, the City Council hereby adopts this Security Information Policy,pursuant to Code of Iowa Section 22.7(52)(2006),effective July 1,2006: "The City Council has determined that certain confidential information developed and maintained by the City concerning security procedures and emergency preparedness, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to jeopardize employees, visitors,persons, or property. The following information shall be kept confidential unless otherwise ordered by a court, by a lawful custodian of the records, or by another person duly authorized to release such information. 1. Information directly related to vulnerability assessments; 2. Information contained in records relating to security measures, such as security and response plants, security codes and combinations, passwords, restricted area passes, keys, and security or response procedures; 3. Emergency response protocols; 4. Architectural, engineering, or construction diagrams, and, 5. Information contained in records that, if disclosed, would significantly increase the vulnerability of critical physical systems or infrastructures of the City to attack." NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Ames,Iowa,that the above and foregoing policy is hereby approved until September 12, 2006. ADOPTED THIS 8th day of August, 2006.
