HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Change order to agreement for SE 16th Street Paving Project RESOLUTION NO. 06-252 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER TO ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR SOUTHEAST 16TH STREET PAVING AND BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this project is for paving the gravel portion of Southeast 16t'Street from Dayton Avenue/I-35 Interchange and about two blocks east of South Duff Avenue; and, WHEREAS, design and construction has been divided into two phases, including the bridge and roadway,respectively; and, WHEREAS, Phase I includes construction of a bridge over the Skunk River, which will be designed to convey the 50-year flood, and Phase 11 includes grading and paving of the roadway to a 31-foot back-to-back urban section; and, WHEREAS,on February 14, 2006,the Council approved an engineering services agreement for Engineering Alliance,Inc., of Johnston, Iowa,to complete the design services for both phases of the project; and, WHEREAS, this agreement was approved in an amount not to exceed$217,680; and, WHEREAS, through the completion of a Limited Wetland Review, potential wetland areas within the project limits were identified, and a complete wetland delineation will now need to be performed in order to obtain a final determination from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) regarding impacts to jurisdictional wetlands; and, WHEREAS,once the impact extent is determined,a mitigation plan will be developed for the COE concurrence, and the design services to complete these tasks are estimated to be $38,490. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that the change order in the amount of $38,490 for additional engineering services with Engineering Alliance,Inc.,of Johnston,Iowa,for the Southeast 16t'Street Paving and Bridge Replacement Project is hereby approved.
