RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF CONTRACT FOR
PURCHASE OF WATER METERS AND RELATED PARTS AND SERVICES
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, on March 23, 2004,the Council awarded a contract to Hydro Supply Company
of Burnsville, Minnesota, to furnish water meters, meter parts, and related services; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed renewal period is the second of four optional 12-month renewal
periods; and,
WHEREAS, the City standardized on the use of Badger water meters in the 1970s for water
metering applications, and Hydro supply Company submitted a proposal offering the City the best
value for obtaining Badger meters; and,
WHEREAS,the requested FY 2006/07 operating budget includes $140,000 for the purchase
of meters and meter parts, and purchases would not exceed available funding.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
the renewal of the contract with Hydro Supply Company of Burnsville, Minnesota, to furnish water
meters and related parts and services through June 30, 2007, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of June, 2006.
