RESOLUTION APPROVING SUSPENSION OF PARKING REGULATIONS
AND ENFORCEMENT OF METERED SPACES IN CITY HALL PARKING LOT N
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, City Hall Parking Lots M and MM (west of City Hall) are scheduled for
resurfacing this summer; and,
WHEREAS,the company that has been contracted to provide the resurfacing work will be in
town and available to do the resurfacing on Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 18, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, by closing these lots on a weekend, there should be a much smaller impact on
those who regularly use these lots.
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate those that do use the parking lots on the weekend, staff is
requesting that City Hall Parking Lot N(east of City Hall)be made available for free parking the entire
weekend.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
suspension of parking regulations and enforcement of metered spaces in City Hall Parking Lot N(east
of City Hall)for resurfacing of Parking Lots M and MM(west of City Hall)on June 17 and 18,2006.
ADOPTED THIS 13t"day of June, 2006.
