RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
WATER SUPPLY WELLS NOS. 25, 26, & 27
(DIVISIONS 1 & 1A)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Water
Supply Wells Nos.25,26,&27(Divisions 1 &1 A);and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received
on the 18'day of April,2006,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the Water
and Pollution Control Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 28'day of March, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Cahoy Pump Service of
Fredericksburg, Iowa, in the amount of $369,958.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by
said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Cahoy Pump Service of
Fredericksburg, Iowa, in the amount of$369,958.00 dated the 25' day of April, 2006, for the
construction of the Water Supply Wells Nos. 25, 26, &27 (Divisions 1 & IA) as provided for in
the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond
of the said contractor with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company of Columbus, Ohio, as surety
thereon, in the amount of$369,958.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 23rd day of May, 2006.
