RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR PURCHASE OF VACUUM STREET SWEEPER
FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS, bids and proposals were received on the 23' day of March, 2006, for the
purchase of a Medium-Duty Chassis and Truck-Mounted Vacuum Street Sweeper for the Public
Works Department, City of Ames, Iowa. Said bids have now been carefully analyzed.
IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1: Award of contract is made as follows:
To EDM Equipment, Inc., of Des Moines, Iowa, for a Sterling SC8000 Chassis and
an Elgin Whirlwind MV Vacuum Sweeper in the amount of$154,545;
And, acceptance of the sealed bid is made as follows:
That of Iowa Speedway/Manatt's,Inc., of Brooklyn,Iowa,for disposal of the City's
retired Street Sweeper in the amount $45,011.23.
Section 2: The City Manager and City Clerk are authorized to execute said contract for and
on behalf of the City of Ames, Iowa, and to affix the corporate seal of the City thereto.
Section 3: All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 25th day of April, 2006.
