RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
AMES POWER PLANT 161/69 K-V SUBSTATION CONSTRUCTION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Ames Power Plant 161/69 k-V Substation Construction; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were
received on the 4t'day of April, 2006, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared
by DeWild Grant Reckert&Associates Company and filed with the City Clerk on the 6t'day of March,
2006; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of National Conductor
Constructors of Brainerd,Minnesota,in the amount of$1,242,667.93 is the lowest and best bid submitted
for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by
said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and National Conductor Constructors
of Brainerd, Minnesota, in the amount of$1,242,667.93 dated the I I'day of April, 2006, for
the construction of the Ames Power Plant 161/69 k-V Substation Construction as provided for
in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance
bond of the said contractor with BancInsure, Inc., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as surety
thereon,in the amount of$1,242,67.93 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
