HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Restroom Building Renovations RESOLUTION NO. 06-126 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF RESTROOM BUILDING RENOVATION FOR EMMA MCCARTHY LEE PARK AND BROOKSIDE PARK FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Restroom Building Renovation for Emma McCarthy Lee Park and Brookside Park;and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 15'day of March, 2006, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by Snyder&Associates,Inc., and filed with the City Clerk on the 14t1i day of February, 2006; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of EGC, Inc., of Boone, Iowa, in the amount of$67,398.75 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project;and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and EGC,Inc., of Boone,Iowa, in the amount of$67,398.75 dated the 28'day of March, 2006, for the construction of the Restroom Building Renovation for Emma McCarthy Lee Park and Brookside Park as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with IMT Insurance Company(Mutual)of West Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon, in the amount of$67,398.75 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 11"'day of April, 2006. �?� �� A... �� Diane R.
