HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract for Electrical Materials for Power Plant 161/69 k-V Substation RESOLUTION NO. 06-110 RESOLUTION FINALLY APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND FORM OF CONTRACT AND AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR ELECTRICAL MATERIALS FOR AMES POWER PLANT 161/69 K-V SUBSTATION FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, has heretofore approved plans, specifications, and form of contract for Electrical materials for Ames Power Plant 161/69 k-V Substation as described in Resolution No. 06-068 adopted on the 28th day of February, 2006; and, WHEREAS,a hearing has been held on objections to the proposed plans,specifications,and form of contract,and to the cost of the proposed improvement in said City,and all objections thereto have been overruled. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the plans,specifications,and form of contract referred to in the preamble hereof be and the same are hereby finally approved, and the prior action of the Council approving them is hereby finally confirmed; and, WHEREAS,the Council did publish a Notice to Bidders for the construction of said work; and, WHEREAS, all bids have been received and considered. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. It is hereby found and determined that the following bids are the lowest and best bids for said work,and the same are hereby accepted:Galvanizers,Inc.,of West Fargo,North Dakota, for Bid No. 1 - Substation Steel Structures in the amount of$107,615.80; Trachte, Inc.,of Oregon,Wisconsin,for Bid No.2-Control Enclosure in the amount of$151,137.62; Keystone Electrical Manufacturing,Inc.,of Des Moines,Iowa,for Bid No.3-Control Panels in the amount of$113,979.74; Dis-Trap Steel Pole, LLC, of Pineville, Louisiana, for Bid No. 4 - Steel Transmission Towers in the amount of$46,638.00; and, Laminated Wood Systems, Inc., of Seward,Nebraska, for Bid No. 5 - Laminated Wood Poles in the amount of$88,235.27. Section 2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with the said company in accordance with the company's proposal and the Notice to Bidders, and in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore adopted and approved. Section 3. All bids or proposals received are hereby directed to be filed. Section 4. All other bids, other than that accepted, are hereby rejected, and the Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return certified checks accompanying such unsuccessful bids and take receipts therefore to be filed in the Clerk's office. Section 5. All resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28th day of March, 2006. Aj l � � 0 -" Diane R.
