RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
2006/07 CYRIDE ROUTE RECONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
(JEWEL DRIVE FROM SOUTH DUFF AVENUE TO GARNET DRIVE)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,AND PROVIDING FOR
NOTICE OF HEARING AND THE TAKING OF BIDS
IN CONNECTION THEREWITH
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary
to construct the 2006/07 CyRide Route Reconstruction Program(Jewel Drive from South Duff Avenue to Garnet Drive)
for the City of Ames; and,
WHEREAS,the City Council deems it necessary and proper to adopt proposed plans,specifications,and form
of contract as filed with the City Clerk on the 23`d day of March,2006; and,
WHEREAS,it is necessary to fix a time and place of hearing on said proposed plans, specifications and form
of contract and to provide for the taking of bids in connection therewith and to give notice thereof.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows:
Section 1. The proposed plans,specifications and form of contract for the 2006/07 CyRide Route Reconstruction
Program(Jewel Drive from South Duff Avenue to Garnet Drive)within the City of Ames, Iowa, are hereby
approved,and the 25t'day of April,2006,at 7:00 p.m.in the Council Chambers,City Hall,Ames,Iowa,hereby
fixed as the time and place of hearing on said proposed plans,specifications,and form of contract,and also the
time and place of considering bids in connection therewith. Sealed bids will be received until 10:00 a.m.on the
19'day of April, 2006, in the office of the City Clerk, Ames, Iowa, at which time they shall be opened and
announced.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of said hearing on said proposed
plans,specifications,and form of contract,and of the taking of bids,by publication of such notice,once,not less
than four nor more than twenty days before the time of said hearing,unless otherwise provided by State law,and
having a general circulation in the City of Ames,Iowa. Said notice shall be in substantially the following form:

Section 3. All provisions set out in said form of contract and notice are hereby recognized and prescribed by
this Council,and all resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent
of such conflict.
