HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract/bond for Unit 8 Condenser Tubes Replacement Project RESOLUTION NO. 05-495 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF UNIT NO. 8 CONDENSER TUBES REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa, such project having been designated as the Unit No. 8 Condenser Tubes Replacement Project; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 23'day of November,2005,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by Stanley Consultants, Inc., and filed with the City Clerk on the 21 st day of October, 2005; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of TEi Struthers Services of Royersford, Pennsylvania, in the amount of$442,806.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and TEi Struthers Services of Royersford, Pennsylvania, in the amount of $442,806.00 dated the 13" day of December, 2005, for the construction ofthe Unit No.8 Condenser Tubes Replacement Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Westchester Fire Insurance Company of the State of New York,as surety thereon, in the amount of$442,806.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 201'day of December, 2005. Diane R.
