RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY STAFFING
INCREASE FOR THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT FOR THE
CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHERAS, the Legal Department is staffed by 5.75 FTE's; and,
WHEREAS, two full-time FTE positions will become vacant on December 31, 2005, due
to retirement; and,
WHEREAS, under normal circumstances, Human Resources would conduct recruitments
to fill the positions as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, in this current situation, one position may not be filled for some time due to
reorganization of some of the functions done in that position; and
WHEREAS, the Department has a'/4 time Principal Clerk who is willing to go full-time on
a temporary basis,to help absorb some of the additional work that is necessary now and immediately
following the retirement date.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RF SOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,
that the temporary increase of.25 FTE in the Legal Department is hereby authorized.
Adopted this 8th day of November, 2005.
