RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS FOR SUBSTATION PROJECTS
(GOAB SWITCHES)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Miscellaneous Materials for Substation Projects(GOAB Switches);and,pursuant to notice and hearing,
bids were received on the 30`'day of August,2005,as called for in the detailed plans and specifications
as prepared by DeWild Grant Reckert & Associates and filed with the City Clerk on the 9t' day of
August, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Turner Electric, LLC, of
Fairview Heights, Illinois, in the amount of$119,237.74 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the
construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Turner Electric,LLC,of Fairview
Heights, Illinois, in the amount of$119,237.74 dated the 13' day of September, 2005, for
Miscellaneous Materials for Substation Projects (GOAB Switches) as provided for in the
detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond
of the said contractor with Continental Casualty Company of Brookfield,Wisconsin,as surety
thereon,in the amount of$119,237.74 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby
approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
