RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS FOR SUBSTATION PROJECTS
(INSTRUMENT TRANSFORMERS)
FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA
WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the
Miscellaneous Materials for Substation Projects(Instrument Transformers);and,pursuant to notice and
hearing, bids were received on the 30t' day of August, 2005, as called for in the detailed plans and
specifications as prepared by DeWild Grant Reckert&Associates and filed with the City Clerk on the
9'day of August, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Ritz Instrument
Transformers of Waynesboro, Georgia, in the amount of $135,910.00 is the lowest and best bid
submitted for the construction of said project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed
by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as
follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Ritz Instrument Transformers of
Waynesboro,Georgia,in the amount of$135,910.00 for Miscellaneous Materials for Substation
Projects (Instrument Transformers) as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications
referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Chubb
& Son, Inc., of Warren,New Jersey, as surety thereon, in the amount of$135,910.00 filed in
connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extend of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 11 th day of October, 2005.
