RESOLUTION APPROVING SUSPENSION OF PARKING ENFORCEMENT
IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT FOR
FACES CELEBRATION
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS, on October 1, 2005, Families of Ames Celebrate EthnicitieS (FACES) is
sponsoring a fall cultural diversity celebration; and,
WHEREAS, the celebration will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and,
WHEREAS, the Ames Main Street Cultural District (AMSCD) is requesting that parking
enforcement be suspended in the Central Business District(CBD) in order to offer free parking for
participants and to encourage shopping Downtown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the suspension of parking enforcement in the Central Business District area for the FACES
Celebration to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005, is hereby approved.
