HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Prohibit parking along AHS Homecoming Parade RESOLUTION NO. 05-358 RESOLUTION PROHIBITING PARKING ALONG PARADE ROUTE AND APPROVING WAIVER OF PARKING ENFORCEMENT ALONG THE ROUTE FOR AMES HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, Ames High School (AHS) has requested to hold its Homecoming Parade on Monday, September 26, 2005; and, WHEREAS, the parade route will begin at Fifth and Clark, proceed west on Fifth Street, south on Pearle Avenue, east on Main Street, north on Douglas Avenue, and west on Fifth Street back to the east City Hall Parking Lot; and, WHEREAS, the parade will last approximately one hour and will begin at 6:30 p.m.; and, WHEREAS, parade organizers are requesting that parking be prohibited along the parade route on Main, Douglas, and Fifth Street from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.; and, WHEREAS, this group is further requesting a waiver of parking enforcement along the parade route from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that parking along the aforementioned parade route for the Ames High School Homecoming Parade on September 26, 2005, is prohibited, and waiver of parking enforcement is hereby approved.
